A few weeks ago my gorgeous sister Jade got engaged to her long term partner Sam. Sam popped the question on a romantic country get away in the countryside, n'aww what a babe! So the storm of well wishers and cards, calls and texts have quietened.. and now comes the storm that is wedding planning, and as chief bridesmaid, an awful lot of it is down to me! HELP?!
I completed my first duty of sourcing a engagement party venue (much harder than you think!) after rolling through hundreds of places I found the perfect place. The Electric Social in Brixton is a charming bar and club full of character and with a sumptuous cocktail and food menu. All fairly priced and they were amazing helpful in organizing the couples big night!
Now for some planning of my own, my engagement party outfit.
I think this is my favourite so far. I love the vintage inspired wrap dress, with those elegant billowed arms and retro scarf print pattern. It's a cheeky playful length, cutting off on that point of your leg that'll make them look their most slender, and long enough that you can rock some sky high wedges without flashing a bit of bum - never a fierce look! The wedges are stand out. I love a chunky black wedge to really make a statement. A vintage style hammered effect gold chain finishes off the look, making the dress POP.
This is totally tapping into the Rihanna in me. I've an unquenchable thirst for anything that girl wears, regardless of how scantily clad she is it always seems to still look amazing - not saying I will rock up to my sisters engagement in a denim g-string, bralet and sky high stilettos...
This look dips into my love for Katrantzou graphic prints, sleek and simple structures reminiscent of VB, and biker girl chic. The cosmic tones of this dress are stunning, and would really complement my colouring. The shape is a favourite of mine, can't tell you how many smock dresses I have hanging in my wardrobe! These wedges are a little more fun than the first I featured - they are taller, chunkier and have an attitude about them I want! The religion clutch is the just the right amount of masculinity to tease the lines between feminine and boyish.
Couldn't resist my well documented addiction to rings.. This Tessa Metcalfe beauty has me drooling... definitely on the wishlist..

Ah, how exciting, I become a last minute chief bridesmaid for my brother's wedding last year. I hope your sister had the best day eveeeer.
ReplyDeleteOutfit number 2 = UH-mazing! I definitely thought of Mary Katrantzou when I spotted that Style Stalker dress. It's a great investment piece, you'll get so much wear out of it. Now I want it! Ha. <3

DeleteAh last minute - the pressure!? I'm panicking now, and its a year away. Next is Hen Do.. hmmm think I'll have fun planning that one.
The dress is amazee... might very well end up on it's way to me soon. You should totally get it too before it goes!
